Welcome to my YouTube channel, Youthful Living! Today, I’m going to show you how to make my superfood coffee, which includes collagen, dark roast hemp-infused coffee, superfood creamer, and unsalted raw butter. These ingredients can help enhance brain function and skin health.
To start, I’m going to weigh out 350 grams of water and bring it to a boil in a pot, heating it to a temperature between 195 and 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The specific tool you use may vary based on what you have available. Next, I’ll weigh out around 16 grams of coffee grounds (or more or less, depending on how strong you prefer your coffee) and place them in my pour-over device. In this case, I ended up using 18 grams for a 12-ounce cup, which is my happy place.
Once the water has reached the desired temperature, I pour it into a glass pitcher with a spout for easy pouring into the pour-over coffee dripper. For the first pour, I add 50 grams of water to let the coffee “bloom” for 30 seconds. This ensures that all the coffee grounds get wet and release their gases, resulting in a better balance of flavors in the final cup. Next, I add 100 grams of water and let it drain for a minute before making my final pour of 350 grams.
Of course, this is just the way I prefer to make my coffee, and there are many other methods out there. Once the pour-over is finished, I add my unsalted raw butter (or any other fat of my choice, such as MCT oil) and stir until everything has been fully mixed together. Next, I add my choice of creamer and sweetener. In this case, I’m using a vanilla creamer with added medicinal mushrooms like chaga and lion’s mane, which can help support brain and immune health. Sometimes I’ll also add honey, depending on my mood. The creamer I use already has coconut sugar in it, so I adjust the amount accordingly.
